Making a commitment to massage during your training program is an invaluable investment.  You will not only feel well as a result, but you will also experience faster recovery times, especially after long runs, and prevent the onset of injury.

The packages are designed to offer you at least 1 massage per month during the training, with one to redeem after your race for relaxation and recovery purposes.  With the package of 12 you can enjoy 2 massages per month, or reserve a few massages to use closer together for the weeks leading up to your race; and, save one for when it’s over as a reward.  With the package of 18, you are able to enjoy a massage a week in the comfort of your home and save one for when your race is over.  Whichever option suits you, congratulations on participating in the Road to Boston Program, and I look forward to rounding out your experience with a holistic and caring approach to meet your individual needs.

Whole Earth Massage & Bodywork provides everything for your in-home massage.  We bring the massage table, a table-length heating pad, sheets, a blanket, music, massage oil (unscented and scented) and 2, experienced and insured hands.  We care about the environment and choose to use only chemical-free, scent-free detergent for washing sheets.  We also use organic cotton sheets as well as organic massage oil.  Everything that comes in contact with your skin will be as clean, chemical-free and free of toxins as possible.

Andrea is excited to be successfully practicing massage therapy into her fourth year in 2009.  She offers a unique blend of Swedish relaxation work combined with deep tissue techniques tailored to the needs of each client.  She might even sprinkle in some Shiatsu (finger pressure) to balance the qi in your energetic pathways.

Andrea has worked with the dancers of the Joffrey Ballet, marathon runners and tri-athletes.  She is the official massage therapist for the Road to Boston marathon training program.  She had the privilege of massaging elite finishers of the 2009 Chicago marathon.  In addition, she has completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified, yoga teacher training program this summer, and is excited to share this new skill with her clients.

Andrea is passionate about providing eco-friendly massage services to her clients.  She uses bamboo cotton sheets, organic, scent-free and dye-free laundry detergent, organic massage oil and cream, and lives an organic and sustainable lifestyle wherever possible.  She takes great care to limit your exposure to chemicals and toxins; after all, the skin is our largest organ and first line of defense.

Andrea attended the Swedish Institute of Health Sciences in New York City to earn her Associates Degree in Occupational Studies for Massage Therapy.  She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
